The All India Law Entrance Test (AILET) is conducted every year by the National Law University (NLU), New Delhi. The notice for AILET has been released by NLU, New Delhi on its official website and the exam is usually held on the first Sunday of May.
Based on their performance and marks in AILET 2019, law aspirants can get admission to BA LLB (Hons) in NLU, New Delhi. Candidates are shortlisted for admission to fill 83 seats in the BA LLB (Hons) course. In BA LLB program, there are 73 seats and the remaining 10 seats are open for direct admission to Foreign Nationals.

In order to be eligible to take this test, the law aspirants should have passed the 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks. The students appearing for 10+2 examinations at the time of the AILET can also apply if they meet the above criterion at the time of admission to the university. As mentioned on NLU Delhi official site, there will be no age limit to appear in the All India Law Entrance Test, Delhi for admission to BA LLB (Hons) Program.
AILET Exam Pattern
The AILET tests comprises of a total of 50 questions which the aspirants need to attempt within a duration of 1 hour 30 minutes. The test paper is divided into five subjects which are mentioned below:
English, Mathematics, General Knowledge, Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.

AILET Marking Scheme
The candidates secure one mark for each right answer. There will be negative marking in the test. For each wrong answer, the candidates will be penalised with a deduction of 0.25 marks. Thus, four wrong answers will lead to a negative score of 1 mark.
AILET Result & Counselling
The result is generally declared in the third week of May. Aspirants can check their results on the official site. The result is usually displayed marks-wise, roll number wise and category wise (General, SC, ST, Kashmiri Migrants and Residents of Jammu & Kashmir). A consolidated final merit list for admissions is also declared by the National Law University, New Delhi.
After the result has been declared, AILET counselling is conducted by NLU Delhi. AILET counselling is conducted only in the offline mode at the NLU Delhi campus. The counselling is conducted on the basis of the merit list released after the exam.
